Our Values Curriculum
Like UNESCO we believe that Curriculum has many perspectives. There is the written/official curriculum as defined by the government and Roman Catholic Bishops' Conference.
This is then translated into the implemented curriculum which you will see at the classroom level (please see our Class Curriculum Information).
What can be assessed and can be demonstrated as learning outcomes/learner competencies) constitutes the achieved or learned curriculum.
Finally, as equally or if not more important, there is the hidden curriculum. The development of the personal values and beliefs of the learners.
In order to capture the ways in which the development of these values occurs within school we have created our Values Curriculum. This takes it's lead from our school vision 'To live the Gospel and when necessary use words' and is therefore firmly rooted in the Gospel Values. However we also incorporate the SMSC and British Values curriculums.
As a school we will focus on a different value together for a certain period of time. The value will form the basis of liturgies, assemblies, PSHCE sessions, team time and should permeate into the class curriculum where at all possible.
