Knowledge organisers clarify information for children and parents, summarise and streamline the key facts of a particular subject, and encourage learners to retain this knowledge beyond the classroom, deepening it over time. The aim of sharing this information is to include families in our classroom learning by providing you with the key information your child needs to know by the end of a sequence of learning/topic.
Sometimes, teachers will set learning parts of the knowledge organiser as homework. This is a fantastic opportunity for your child to share their learning with you and for you to ask questions about what they have been learning about in certain subjects. It would be fantastic if parents/families could spend a little time, maybe 5–10 minutes a week, discussing your child’s knowledge organisers with them. Ask questions, read the key information with them and enjoy the opportunity to discover more about your child’s learning.
